Sunscreens Dirty Little Secret

University of California Research Finds Your
Sunblock May Increase Sun Damage
Dear Reader,
If you use a sunscreen, you could be doing something worse than throwing your money away. You could be risking your health.
Sunscreen’s Dirty Secret
Little Tyler seemed like a healthy 12-year-old. Full of energy, she played outside with her brother and friends every day.
But then she began complaining about feeling achy “all over” – especially in her legs. After months of worry, doctors finally identified the culprit. Every day, before Tyler and her brother went out to play, their mother applied a layer of sunscreen.
The sunscreen kept Tyler’s body from making the vitamin D she needed, and her bones were turning weak and soft.13
I've seen many patients like Tyler at my clinic and it's a shame... the number of children and adults with low vitamin D levels has sky rocketed due to sunscreen use. And this has caused a huge jump in bone problems and other health issues.14
That’s why I created Solis – so you can get the vitamin D you need and the sunscreen power you want.
Because most sunblock products contain ingredients that can increase the damaging effects of the sun’s rays!
University of California researchers discovered that oxybenzone – a common sunscreen ingredient – boosts the production of dangerous free radicals in your skin after just 20 minutes of exposure to the sun!1
Even the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) with all it's missteps got this one right when it agreed that you should avoid using BHA – another common sunscreen ingredient – if you’re going out in the sun, and that you shouldn’t use it at all on young children!2
The truth is, commercial sunscreen products can do more harm than good. They’re loaded with chemicals that could...
  • Disarm your body’s natural defenses against sun damage... multiplying the harmful effects of the sun’s rays;
  • Damage your DNA... increasing your chances of serious health problems;
  • Affect your hormone balance and contribute to early puberty in children.
But there is a way to shield yourself from over-exposure to the sun. A way that doesn’t risk your health.
In a moment, I’ll reveal what it is. But first, here’s another reason you should avoid commercial sunscreen products.
Is Your Sunscreen Stealing Your Health?
Did you know there are chemicals used in sunscreens that absorb easily through your skin and...

  • Act like the female hormone estrogen, disrupting your body’s hormone balance;
  • Are linked to breast and skin cancers;
  • Injure your DNA;
  • Interfere with the production of thyroid hormones;
  • May contribute to male infertility.
You wouldn’t think chemicals like that would be allowed in skin care products. But they are.3, 4, 5
They’re called parabens, and you’ll find one or more of them in almost every sunscreen on the market.
And for years you’ve been told to spread them all over your body...
Too much sun may be hard on your skin, but sunscreens may be a case of the cure being worse than the disease.
So I decided the only way to have the “perfect” sunscreen was to create my own. Because the problems we’ve covered so far aren’t the only ones you have to worry about. Most sunscreens also contribute to yet another serious health problem.
Sunscreens Block The Good Stuff, Too
The sun is your friend. It provides many health benefits – because it’s your main source of vitamin D.
Vitamin D promotes bone strength by improving calcium absorption. You need it for a healthy immune system. It helps you control blood pressure. In fact, it has dozens of healthy benefits.
Your body makes vitamin D when you expose your skin to the sun. Just 15 - 20 minutes of sun each day is enough for most people to make all the vitamin D they need.
Sunscreens don’t do much very well... but they effectively block vitamin D production.
Studies show that about one-third of all Americans already don’t get enough vitamin D.6 And a large number of children are beginning to experience bone development problems – which is being linked to the chemicals in most sunscreens.7
If you use these kinds of sunscreens as directed, you never get enough sun to make the vitamin D you need. You see, you have to plan ahead with ordinary sunblock products. To get any benefit, you have to apply them a half hour – or more – before sun exposure.
But a truly effective sunscreen should block only unwanted sun... not all sun. And that’s the second reason I took matters into my own hands.
Now you can block only excess sun exposure, avoid the dangerous chemicals in commercial sunscreens and nourish your skin all at once.
Nature’s Perfect Sunblock
Your skin is natural. Sunshine is natural. And your sunscreen should be natural.
Natural zinc creates an effective barrier against the sun’s rays. And it starts working as soon as you put it on – not a half hour later like man-made chemicals. So you can get the 15 - 20 minutes of direct sun you need each day... and then apply your sunblock.
Plus, zinc doesn’t harm your skin the way so many chemical sunscreens do. In fact, zinc actively promotes skin health.8
Zinc also shields your skin in two ways. It forms a physical barrier against the sun’s rays, and boosts your skin’s antioxidant defenses at the same time.9
That’s why I consider zinc nature’s perfect sunblock. But, until now, there’s been a problem with zinc.
You may have seen surfers using brightly colored sunblock on their noses and cheekbones. That’s zinc... and it makes you look like you just put on clown makeup or war paint.
You see, zinc’s large molecules have always needed a heavy base to be effective. So I challenged my team to develop a micro-fine zinc that provided more effective coverage – without the “clown-makeup” look.
After a lot of work, they met my challenge. My micro-fine zinc spreads smoothly and evenly on your skin, providing superior coverage. But it’s so fine, it’s nearly invisible. A bride could wear it at an outdoor wedding, and no one would notice.
But zinc is just the start. Because I wanted my sunblock to be more than just safe and effective. I wanted it to support healthier, more beautiful skin, too.
The Secret To A More Youthful Look
Sometimes, nature’s secrets are simple. For example, younger-looking skin starts with moisture – and plenty of it.
Well-hydrated skin is soft and smooth. It looks younger and healthier than dry skin. But hydrating your skin can be tricky.
Many skin-care products include alcohol, which dries your skin. Some contain caustic ammonia or other skin irritants. And none of these chemicals contribute to softer, younger-looking skin.
For the moisturizers in my “perfect sunblock,” I looked to nature instead. And I found exactly what I was looking for...
  • Soothing, moisturizing shea butter helps limit water loss from your skin... leaving it feeling softer and smoother. Shea butter can hold up to two-and-a-half times its weight in water.
  • Glycerin is one of nature’s gentlest moisturizers. Plus, I’ve added Canadian willow herb to further soothe your skin.
  • You can retain even more moisture with cupuacu butter. This plant extract is similar to shea butter, but contains powerful antioxidants – including quercetin and kaempferol – which may help boost your skin’s natural defenses.10,11
Together, these powerful moisturizers promote a softer, smoother look and feel. So even when you spend hours in the sun, your skin can look years younger.
Plus, I’ve eliminated all the harsh chemicals... leaving only nature’s own gentle ingredients. The result is the purest, healthiest sunscreen available anywhere.
And just for good measure, I added a little something extra.
Enjoy Your Time In The Sun Even More
Getting outside is one thing. Staying there is another. And if you’re swarmed by bugs, you aren’t going to enjoy the time you spend outdoors.
In the tropics of Brazil – where mosquitoes swarm by the millions – the native people use andiroba oil to keep the bugs away. Recent studies show that it’s safe and effective.12 So you can spend more time having fun... and less time swatting at pesky bugs.
That’s why I added abdiroba oil as the final touch to my new sunscreen, which I call Solis.
Solis helps shield your skin from sun damage without dangerous chemicals. Plus it...
  • Makes it easy to get the natural vitamin D your body needs;
